  • For safety and freshness, avoid letting oysters sit in melted ice or water. Oysters exposed to warmth or fresh water for too long can spoil and become unsafe to eat.

Norumbega Oyster

Eric Peters has worked with shellfish for the past 35 years. From scallops in Massachusetts to clams in Florida, he has been around shellfish production since the 1980s. Over that time he has honed his skills in not only running the farm, but managing people as well. The result? A work environment full of passionate employees dedicated to producing the best oysters available for purchase.

In 1999, Eric moved to Midcoast Maine to manage an oyster farm. In 2004, he began to grow his own oysters and in 2006 Norumbega Oyster was founded. This wealth of experience in aquaculture specifically oysters,  has helped Norumbega Oyster, Inc to continue to evolve in finding the best ways to produce both surface and bottom culture product. Additionally, Eric is very involved in the communities surrounding the river.

We urge anyone who enjoys shellfish to try the product that comes as a result of these decades of experience and commitment to quality- we promise you will not be disappointed.
